Retailers can selectively send special offers to customers when they are in certain areas of the store. For example, if a shopper enters the shoe department, an exclusive offer on shoes can be sent to their smart phone. These offers can tie into existing loyalty program databases. A wide range of additional proximity notifications can be pushed to smart devices like welcoming guests by name as they enter a venue, sending personalised rewards to customers for their third (for example) in-store visit.
